The British Heart Foundation shop on Bedford Street, within the Beacon Centre, is one of North Shields' best-known charity shops, selling donated clothing, accessories, books and homeware in aid of cardiovascular research. Like all BHF stores it welcomes good-quality donations and offers Gift Aid on donated goods, turning unwanted items into funds for life-saving research. A staple of the town-centre charity-shop scene.
