About Live Well with Cancer
Live Well with Cancer is a North Shields charity supporting people affected by a cancer diagnosis, run from its Live Well Hub on Nile Street in the town centre. It was founded in 2019 by Maureen Elliott, a former clinical nurse specialist, and offers free support groups, creative and movement sessions, one-to-one support and complementary therapies to hundreds of visitors each year.
The hub is a welcoming space for anyone living with, or beyond, cancer, as well as their families and carers, and its programme is designed to help people improve their wellbeing at every stage of a diagnosis. It is a registered charity (number 1186482) and is easy to reach from the Beacon Centre and the Metro.
