North Tyneside Register Office is at Maritime Chambers, 1 Howard Street, in North Shields town centre. A death occurring anywhere in North Tyneside is normally registered here by appointment, booked by telephone or email, and should be registered within five days of being told you can do so.
When the death is registered the registrar issues the death certificate, and it is worth asking for several certified copies at the time. The registrar also provides a Tell Us Once reference, which lets you notify central and local government departments in a single step. The office is open Monday to Friday.
