About Percy Park RFC

Percy Park RFC was founded in 1872 and plays at Preston Avenue in North Shields, on the stretch between the town centre and Tynemouth, which makes it one of the oldest rugby union clubs in the North East. Senior and junior sides play through the winter, and the pitches sit alongside a large modern clubhouse rebuilt to serve both the rugby and a busy calendar of private functions.

That clubhouse is the club's other life, and it is one of the biggest rooms available to hire anywhere in North Shields. It accommodates up to 350 people, seating around 300 at long tables or 200 at round tables, and comes with two bars, a balcony over the pitches, a PA system, partitioning to divide the space and lift access for anyone who needs it. The club takes weddings, civil partnerships, christenings, parties, funerals and corporate events, with catering and a disco arranged on request, and enquiries go through the clubhouse manager.
