About North Tyneside VODA

North Tyneside VODA is the support organisation for the borough's voluntary and community sector, and it runs the volunteer centre for North Tyneside, including North Shields. It helps people find a volunteering role that suits their interests and the time they can give, and offers extra, supported volunteering for anyone who needs help overcoming barriers to getting involved. Opportunities from local charities and groups are listed on its searchable Volunteer Plus database.

Alongside its work with volunteers, VODA provides advice, training and networking for organisations that involve volunteers, helps businesses set up employee volunteering schemes, and supports trustees and committee members. Its office is on the second floor of the Wallsend Community Hub and Library, open Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4:30pm, and it can be contacted by phone or by email at admin@voda.org.uk.
