About The Gunner

The Gunner is a big, straightforward pub on Trevor Terrace in North Shields, part of the Greene King estate and a long-standing local for the Preston and New York side of the town. It trades on proper pub food and a broad drinks range rather than on anything fancy, with tables bookable online and room for family groups, and it is one of the more dependable places in the area for a sit-down Sunday or a midweek meal out.

Its usefulness to anyone organising a December get-together is that, unlike most of the town's independents, it publishes its festive arrangements well in advance: a Festive Fayre menu through the month alongside separate Christmas Day bookings, with menu pre-orders opening in late October and online bookings taken into the middle of December. Christmas Day bookings carry a £10 per person deposit and the balance falls due at the start of the month, so read the terms before paying, but for a team of ten who want a priced menu and a confirmed table it is the least fuss available locally.
