The Wooden Doll

Riverside pub near the Fish Quay with six hand pumps, craft beer and regular live music.

About The Wooden Doll

The Wooden Doll stands on Hudson Street on the bank above the Fish Quay, taking its name from the carved wooden dolly figure that is a North Shields tradition. It is a friendly riverside local with a strong reputation for ale, pouring six hand pumps of cask and a rotating range of craft beer.

As well as the beer, it hosts regular live music and can be booked for functions, and its position above the Quay gives it views out over the river. It is a reliable stop on a Fish Quay pub crawl and a fixture of the local drinking scene.
